Robots aren't quite as adept at removing particles like metal screws or chunks of pasta. But they're amazing at cleaning pet hair, dust and food particles. The best models feature intelligent navigation technology and a feature to avoid objects that allow them to maneuver around cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is an excellent robot vacuum that comes with a range of clever features that make it more easy to maintain than most competing models. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the most useful features we've seen in a robotic vacuum. It is a great choice for carpets and hard floors. The app will guide you through the entire process. It is also easy to use and set up. Its ability to resumptuate where it left off in our tests is an additional impressive feature. It was able to do this for 77 minute on one cleaning, before the battery ran out.
The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums that we tested has a self emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt container on its charging base once it is fully filled. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually empty after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dustbin holds 2.4L of trash and is more than enough to last four or five cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7 uses state-ofthe-art floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, while the i7 has the capacity to store multiple maps. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones however, not the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of picking up surface debris in comparison to other robovacs we've reviewed, but it is not the best at cleaning corners and edges. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly silent. It pulled chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and became stuck on cords and toys while testing.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice, whether you are expanding your collection of robot vacuums or are just beginning to get started. It packs serious power, smart navigation and a user-friendly automation into a sleek design at an affordable price. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model available today and even beats some of Roborock's more expensive models in several ways.
This robot does a great job of cleaning floors that are not clean and its avoidance system assists it in avoiding furniture legs and other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and scores the highest score on our navigation tests. The only issue is that it's more noisy than other models, and doesn't perform as well in our satisfaction of the owner and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin that is 770ml, which means you won't have to empty it as frequently as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240 minute running time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. When the battery is low, it returns to its dock and automatically recharges before resuming cleaning where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
This is one of the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advancements, helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. It allows you to schedule cleanings, set no-go zones, and view the status of the battery as well as other things. The app is easy to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit and that feature is expected to be available by 2025. As of self vacuum , Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that the feature will be delayed until 2025. A few other robots aren't compatible with HomeKit However, many of them are compatible with Siri Shortcuts.

It is also able to find its way back to the base station in case it runs out of batteries during an exercise of cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a certain space on your floor. And it can be manually programmed to follow a fixed route, which is helpful if you have narrow staircases or hallways. In our carpet cleaning test it did a good job cleaning carpets. However, it struggled to clean carpets and rugs with longer piles.
